Bolton Wanderers’ Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic has been arrested by Greater Manchester Police over an allegation of rape.

The 30-year-old was questioned earlier this week and bailed pending further inquiries.

A spokesman for GMP confirmed:“Police are currently investigating a report of rape in Manchester city centre.

“Shortly before 5am on Monday 25 October 2010, police were called following a report that a 17-year-old had been raped.

“A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and released on bail pending further inquiries until 1 November 2010.”

Klasnic spent last season on loan with the Trotters, before sealing a permanent move from French club Nantes in the summer.
